Valley ROP Ambassador Award

Valley ROP has established a “VROP Ambassador Scholarship and Award” this school year.   The Valley ROP “Student Ambassador” Career Technical Scholarship is a prestigious honor designed to acknowledge and nurture the talents of high school seniors who have showcased remarkable leadership, responsibility, and trustworthiness during their enrollment in a Valley ROP Career Technical Education (CTE) program.  Eligibility for the scholarship goes beyond academic achievements. Candidates must have successfully completed their chosen pathway and show a strong interest in advancing their CTE education beyond high school, whether through further academic pursuits or immediate entry into the workforce.

Eligibility and Criteria:

  1. Showcased Leadership Skills; Team Player; Excellent Communication Skills
  2. Pathway Completer in a Valley ROP Pathway Program
  3. Work-Based Learning Experience (Internships, CTE After after-school program, Volunteer etc)
  4. Beyond High School: They will continue their journey in the same sector/Industry in post-secondary programs, trade schools, VROP programs, or jobs after high school.
  5. Industry Certifications or Equivalent
  6. Academic: 2.0 Cumulative GPA minimum

The selection process is comprehensive and rigorous, identifying students who demonstrate a profound passion for their chosen CTE sector and outstanding leadership, responsibility, and trustworthiness during their enrollment. The scholarship committee, composed of CTE educators, industry experts, and community advocates, will evaluate various aspects of each application, including academic transcripts, community involvement, and evidence of mastery in their field, such as certifications, WBL and program involvement.

The Award event will be in May, with a special night with a red carpet feel for the students, Instructors and their parents, “A Night with the Starts”. The event will support fifteen to eighteen distinct seniors in twelve sectors, ranging from Agriculture and Natural Resources to Transportation. Funds are disbursed directly to the chosen educational institution of the awardee to be used for tuition, fees, books, or other essential resources or tools.
